At the start of 2023 I got on the scale and was not very happy with the number I saw. I felt like I needed to start making a change and the plan was to document that journey. If you look through my blog currently it's mainly been guitar and maybe some jiu-jitsu.
Basically, I've been unmotivated and haven't been really focused on getting my weight down. This is a problem because my pants are starting to feel a little tight. I finally decided to get off my ass and do something about it. I'm using portion control when I eat. For me, eating has always been a challenge, and the challenge is always how much food I can jam into my mouth. I never say no to an all you can eat buffet.
This week I added an extra steelmace workout into my daily routine, and a kettlebell workout as well. I also have been kind of coasting through my normal workouts and not really pushing myself, so now I'm using heavier weights again, and trying to not take it as easy on myself.
I really have not ran since about August of 2022. I might start running again in a couple weeks. Our jiu-jitsu studio has moved and we are now only 1.5 miles from my house. My plan in the next few weeks is to start running to my jiu-jitsu class a few times a week. This will help me sneak in 3 miles of running to the gym and then back home.
I'm going to do my best to post weekly about my progress, but I've also said that before. Hopefully I can stick to it.
