My entry for Sunday With Ola SWOLA 62. I'm glad I started doing these. They are super fun and it's been giving me time to get better at recording my guitar and bass as well.

Dreams (10-07-21)
Last night's dream...
I'm in the kitchen making dinner. Nothing out of the ordinary. I say, "Alexa, open Pandora." Alexa replies with, "opening David's 'Heavy Metal Station' on Pandora Radio."
At this moment Pearl Jam comes on. My first reaction is to think, "what the fuck, Alexa is playing my 'Gym Station' not my 'Heavy Metal Station' right now. I look at the display and it says "David's Heavy Metal Station" but for some reason Pearl Jam is playing.
At this point I'm really trying to figure out what is going on. I like Pearl Jam, but they don't belong on this Station. The more I think about it the more I know this song doesn't belong here.
I tell myself, "this is a dream, that's the only thing that makes sense." Then I wake up.

SWOLA 60 (My Drums with Guitar and Bass Tracks)
Just got done playing around with my drum kit. I took the pre recorded drums out of the mix after I recorded the guitar and bass tracks for the SWOLA 60 riff challenge. I still haven't had any lessons yet. Just playing around on my own and watching a few YouTube videos. It's been a fun learning process.
...until next time!!

SWOLA 60
I'm really having fun doing these SWOLA Riff Challenges. Finished my entry for SWOLA 60 yesterday. I really had a hard time coming up with something for the last part of the drum beat. I was totally overthinking it, and when I decided to just keep it simple everything worked itself out. Music was such an important part of my life when I was growing up. I took a long break from playing for a really stupid reason, and I'm really glad that music is once again in my life.
...until next time!!

Flaws
A few months ago I made a pedal board to store and organize my guitar effect pedals. After I carefully measured everything, built it, painted it, placed the pedals in the exact way I wanted them set up... I noticed I messed up. I didn't leave enough clearance to plug my guitar into my wah pedal.
I had two options. I could add something under the wah pedal to raise it up enough so that the input jack would clear the side rail, or I could cut into the rail and make a clearance that way.
I decided I would cut into the rail and make some adjustments so I could plug my guitar into the wah pedal without it putting and unwanted pressure on the cable or input jack.
I'm not much of a carpenter. My tools slipped a few times taking off some extra paint. I figured it was no big deal because I was going to touch up the board anyway.
By the time I was done I looked at all the extra paint that had come off. I sanded the board down and was about to add a little bit of paint to it. After I looked at the board for a few mins I decided not to paint it. I'm just going to leave it how it is. This "flaw" will remind me to do a better job at double checking my next project before I say it's done. It also reminds me that not everything in life is perfect, and not everything has to be. I'm not perfect... in fact, I'm pretty flawed.
Until next time...
